The team of Henry’s Angels from Henry Schein UK Holdings pitched up at the EllenorLions Hospices, Gravesend on Friday 20 May 2011, armed with flowers, gloves and bags of enthusiasm to overhaul a large patch of garden damaged in the recent building project at the Hospice.

The 20 May 2011 dawned bright and sunny – a perfect day for gardening but this was not a general tiding up of weeds or potting up ornamental garden pots this was a full scale project which involved measuring up the land, laying out of plants, bricks, digging troughs, preparing the ground with lots and lots of manure and heaving barrow loads of pea shingle to the new area. All of which Henry’s Angels from Henry Schein UK Holdings Ltd, Gillingham did without a moan or groan – their very own Bosley , AKA George Kippen, kept all of the Angels, Ellie Nightingale, Lyn Yorke, Kelly Moore, Sarah Slee and Lynsey van Wyke in line and led from the front helping to organise, plan and motivate the whole team.

Our very own head gardener Roger Thurman was completely overwhelmed by the support of the Henry’s Angels team Roger said “the generosity of spirit, time and donations of flowers were amazing – the team from Henry Schein UK Holdings Ltd were so enthusiastic and really good fun to have around, nothing was too much trouble and the garden overhaul was completed in one day, the whole team worked together to ensure they met and exceeded all expectations”. With all the bedrooms looking out onto the garden, it is a real focal point at the hospice in Coldharbour Road, Northfleet and is enjoyed by the patients and visitors.

The Henry’s Angels have been working with chYps Childrens Hospice on their first collaboration which will hopefully see a long term relationship develop in the coming months which will also see the Henry’s Angels concept be rolled out to sister offices around the UK.
