Whiffens Avenue in Chatham will be closed to vehicles in both directions for four nights from Monday July 25 to allow The Brook to be resurfaced as part of the Dynamic Bus Facility scheme.
The closure will take place each night from 8pm to 6am. Traffic that normally uses Whiffens Avenue will be diverted via The Brook, Slicketts Hill, Cross Street and Rope Walk.

Pedestrian access to The Brook will also be affected. Pedestrians walking from Dock Road to the Pentagon Centre and central Chatham will need to make a small detour and cross to the army recruitment office side of the road, then walk along that side of The Brook before crossing again into Military Road.

The resurfacing will take place from the junction with Dock Road to the junction with Globe Lane.
During the resurfacing only one lane will be open to traffic on The Brook and this will be controlled by traffic lights.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
