Get that Friday feeling and welcome in the weekend this August by heading to Rainham Shopping Centre for some themed events for all the family.

The Fun Time Friday events will take place over three weeks in August, with themed activities and entertainment to get shoppers in the mood for the weekend.

Starting on Friday, 5 August, every Friday will have a theme and there will be activities aimed at a range of ages, from arts and crafts to music making and photography sessions, as well as information and advice on services from the council, police and fire brigade.

Organised by Medway Council, all events are free to go along to. Details are below:

Friday, 5 August, Rainham Shopping Centre, High Street, Rainham, 11am to 3pm.
Theme: Pirates and Princesses

Indulge your creative side with this pirates and princesses themed event. Children will be able to get messy with arts and crafts making seaside themed pirate hats, masks or princess wands.

There will also be a pirate entertainer, showcasing skills in balloon modelling, stilt walking and juggling.

For younger children, cuddly characters Pirate Monty and Roger Jolly will be available for photos.

The children’s mobile library will also be available so children can choose a book to take away.

Friday, 12 August, Rainham Shopping Centre, High Street, Rainham, 11am to 3pm.
Theme: Community Services

Representatives from Kent Fire Brigade, Kent Police, Medway Council and Medway Neighbourhood Watch Association will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about local services, from recycling and community safety to trading standards.

Friday, 19 August, Rainham Shopping Centre, High Street, Rainham, 11am to 3pm.
Theme: Music and Photography.

Medway Council’s youth service will be offering young people the chance to make and record music on a computer, as well as offering top tips on photography and how to get the perfect shot. There will also be advice on youth facilities and programmes available for teenagers.
