A dance event is taking place this weekend and talented movers and shakers are needed to take part.

As part of the Encounter project, all ages, styles and abilities of dancers are wanted to join in with a showcase event on Saturday, 24 September from 2pm to 3.30pm and Sunday, 25 September from 6pm to 9pm.

Organised by North Kent Local Authorities Arts Partnership in conjunction with Medway Council’s Arts Team, ON/OFF dance event takes place at the disused car show room Turners of Medway (off Higgins Lane, Medway Street) Chatham.

The dance event aims to turn physical energy into light and sound.

Performances by h2dance will also take place at the following times on both Saturday and Sunday: 12noon, 1pm, 4pm and 5pm.

The event is free and open to members of the public. Free tickets can be booked through The Brook Theatre on 01634 338338.

The event is part of Encounter, six public art commissions that are happening in North Kent, in the boroughs of Medway, Gravesham and Swale.
