The skies above Capstone Farm Country Park will be filled with colourful kites on Sunday, 25 September, while bikes of all shapes and sizes will trail the grounds.

As well as plenty of chance to fly a kite, the free family day out includes all kinds of other activities.

Visitors can experience the thrill of kite buggies with some of Medway’s finest power kite masters, and see leading kite flying groups in action, including Kent Kite Flyers and Brighton Kite Flyers.

All kinds of bike related demonstrations and activities will also be on offer, including breathtaking stunt displays from Think Bikes Mountain Display Team.

There’s even a chance to pedal your way to five-a-day on handmade bikes that promote healthy living with a delicious smoothie into the bargain. Everyone is welcome to bring along their own bike and enjoy one of Capstone’s four bike trails.

Medway Council’s Arts Development Team will show younger visitors how to decorate their very own high visibility vest. There will be a chance to check out a penny-farthing and learn about its history, and enjoy some bike and kite themed tales at the children’s mobile library. Children aged 10 and under can also try their hand at quad biking.

Medway Police will also be on hand at the event with their bike marking service, used to deter thieves.

The event runs from 11am to 4pm and admission and all activities are free. Refreshments will be available on site. Access to the events field is via the Ski Centre entrance. Free parking will be available on site on a first come, first served basis, and pedestrians can access the event via the Wagon at Hale roundabout.
