An open evening to find out about teaching qualifications will take place later this month. The informal event will take place on Tuesday, 17 January at the Rochester Adult Education Centre/Community Hub from 5pm to 7.30pm. The open evening will be an opportunity for teachers, tutors and trainers both in the public sector and business, to find out about the range of teaching qualifications and short courses, chat to tutors and seek advice and guidance on their own personal development needs. The teacher training team of Medway Adult and Community Learning Service (MACLS) will be on hand to discuss options and answer questions.

Anyone who is currently teaching adults or who wishes to explore their options for adding another “string to their bow” is encouraged to attend and meet the team. On top of teaching qualification courses such as PTLLS and DTLLS, MACLS range of courses has recently expanded to include:

• Assertiveness for teachers and trainers
• Developing your professional persona – using professional actors’ techniques to develop and improve teaching delivery and presentation skills
• The new Level 3 Assessor’s Award (TAQA)
• Two day intensive train-the-trainer

No appointment is needed but if anyone wants more information, please contact Natasha French via email: or call 01634 338476.
