Visitors to Upnor Castle can catch an open-air children’s theatre special in the last week of the summer holidays.
Upnor Castle and 2G Productions present a potted panto of Robin Hood on Wednesday, 29 August. The production begins at 2pm in the castle gardens, with more children’s entertainment going on throughout the day.
The show is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. There’s no need to book in advance – visitors can just turn up on the day and bring a picnic. Admission prices to the panto and the castle are; adults £5.65, children/ concessions £3.60, family tickets £15.00 (two adults and up to three children). Upnor Castle is set in tranquil grounds, in the picturesque riverside village of Upnor. A rare and wonderfully preserved Elizabethan artillery fortress, built in 1559 to defend the navy and the nearby Chatham Dockyard.
