Popular British author Robert Goddard will be in Chatham next month to launch his latest book, in paperback.

The author, who has penned more than 20 thrillers, will be in Chatham Library at Chatham Community Hub on Thursday, 13 September at 7.30pm.

Robert will be reading from his latest book – Fault Line – and will sign copies afterwards. Copies of the book will be available to buy on the night.
Robert Goddard’s first book, Past Caring, was published in 1986 and Fault Line will be his 23rd novel. In 2011 his thriller, Long Time Coming, won an Edgar in the Mystery Writers of America Awards and marked his 25th anniversary as a regular fixture in the Sunday Times bestseller lists.

Robert said: “I was a writer, in the sense of being a storyteller – an avid elaborator and re-fashioner of events for my own and others’ entertainment – from my childhood on. I was also an eager student of history, spending every
Saturday I could in the local reference library poring over history books in a bid to understand the world I grew up in. These two impulses – to alter reality and also to master it – are the foundations of my fiction.

“It’s become an addictive occupation and it’s not an addiction I have any intention of trying to kick. I’m in it for life.” The event is free but places must be booked. Phone Chatham Library on 01634 337799 or ask staff in any Medway library.
