Groundwork Kent and Medway Landscape Design Team, Medway Council, mhs homes and other partners have secured funding from The Big Tree Plant to plant more than 25,000 trees in Kent and Medway over the next three years.

Trees are great in so many ways – for improving air quality, improving happiness and well being, and for bringing more wildlife and beauty into estates. There are several sites across Medway that are getting additional tree planting this winter. Come along to any of the following events to help plant the trees, learn more about trees, and enjoy quizzes, games, free doughnuts and apples.

• Thursday, 29 November from 3pm to 4pm at Jenkins Dale, Chatham

• Sunday, 2 December from 11am to 1pm at Broomhill Park, Strood

• Sunday, 2 December from 2pm to 3pm at Copperfields Park, Rochester

To come along, please phone Jenny or Carol on 01322 384848, for details and meeting points. Email carol.unwin@groundwork.org.uk

If you have a site near you that needs greening up, please get in touch and Groundwork may be able to run a Free Family Tree Planting afternoon at your site and help your community ‘Go for Green’ this year.
