People across Medway and Swale are being invited to get involved in their community health services.

Medway Community Healthcare is extending an invitation to join their community forum.

“We have set up our community forum to give people who live or work in Medway and Swale the chance to be involved in helping us develop our services to make sure we are listening and getting it right; and to tell us if we don’t,” explained Heidi Shute, corporate director.

Since its launch in November 2011, members of the community forum have had their say in what Medway Community Healthcare clinical priorities should be for 2012-2013, reviewed the annual quality account and have recently been asked for their views on what they think are the most important aspects on inpatient estates and facilities.

Heidi added: “As a new social enterprise we want to do things differently. We need the help of local people to tell us what you would like from your community health services.

“You or members of your family have probably been cared for by our teams; we provide a wide range of local services including health visitors, MedOCC*, rehabilitation at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and community dental services, plus many more.

“I urge you to join our community forum and help us to continue to develop our services to make sure they meet your needs.

“You can choose how much you get involved and when and what to respond to as well as the method in which we communicate with you. Joining the community forum is free, and you can also choose to leave the forum at any time.”
