Cycling enthusiasts are encouraged to join The Mayor of Medway on an 18-mile bike ride this month.

Cllr Vaughn Hewett and the A Better Medway health improvement team are taking part in the Active Medway Cycle Groups ride on Sunday, 21 April. The route will go along the wonderful Heron Trail on the Hoo Peninsula – 18 miles of pretty countryside, mainly on cycle paths or low traffic roads. Trained ride leaders will also be on hand to assist cyclists along the route.

As part of A Better Medway’s winter health campaign, The Mayor of Medway pledged to do 150 minutes of exercise each week – this cycle ride will certainly help him achieve that goal. Keen riders are encouraged to come along, make new friends and enjoy what cycling has to offer.

The ride takes place on Sunday, 21 April 2013, and all riders should meet at The Village Sports and Social Club, Bell Lane, Hoo, ME3 9JD. Meeting time 9.30am for a 10am start.
