cine3Four exclusive cinematic evenings are taking place at The Historic Dockyard Chatham during the month of May. The beautiful and unique setting of the Mezzanine Floor of 3 Slip: The BIG Space is being used for the first time to host Big Screen Movies on the 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th May. The films are presented in partnership with The Luna Cinema.

No. 3 Slip is one of Britain’s architectural gems – built in 1838, this immense covered slip was Europe’s largest wide span timber structure. Film goers will take the lift or stairs to the mezzanine floor and will discover the real grandeur of this incredible building sitting beneath the awe-inspiring timber roof.

Screenings are as follows:
17th May 2013 Life Of Pi (2012, Cert PG, 127 minutes)
18th May 2013 Les Miserables (2012, Cert 12A, 158 minutes)
24th May 2013 The Goonies (1985, Cert 12, 114 minutes)
25th May 2013 Sherlock Holmes (2009, Cert 12A, 128 minutes)
Doors open at 19:30 and each film starts at 20:30

Those attending should bring their own fold out chairs, cushions, bean bags or blankets for comfort on the 1904 timber floors.

On the 18th May at the Les Miserables screening there will have an exclusive introduction from some of the cast! Film goers can also make a day of it and purchase The Historic Dockyard admission tickets (which last for a whole year) and visit the film locations for Sherlock Holmes, Les Miserables and Call The Midwife as well as all the galleries and attractions, at leisure before seeing the film. There are also special day ticket admission and tour packages available for the days of the Les Miserables and Sherlock Holmes screenings.
