Leading children’s charity Action for Children is calling on cyclists of all ages and abilities from across Kent to take part in a sponsored bike ride at the world-famous Brands Hatch Race Circuit on the evening of Friday 13 September 2013.

Those taking part will face the challenge of completing as many 1.2 mile laps of the circuits within two hours as possible – while enjoying exclusive access to the world-famous racetrack and raising much-needed funds for vulnerable children and young people.

Action for Children has exclusive access to Brands Hatch Race Circuit for the event, which runs from 5.15pm and 7.30pm and costs £10 per adult. Children under 16 can take part for free but must be with a registered and participating adult.

Individuals are encouraged to raise at least £50 in sponsorship, and families to raise at least £100. All proceeds will go towards Action for Children’s work across Kent and the UK.

Selena Goldsmith, Action for Children Partnership Fundraiser for Kent said: “The Brands Hatch Bike Ride will be a great family evening out, and will help make a life-changing difference to disadvantaged and neglected children, young people and their families. We’re keen for cyclists of all ages and abilities to join in and follow in the tyre tracks of some of the world’s most famous racing car drivers.”

The smooth surface and traffic-free track at the venue – which hosted the Paralympic road cycling events last year – allows for cyclists to ride their bikes in a safe and enclosed area.

There will be plenty free parking, and people can bring picnics to have as they watch the action. Cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and other refreshments will be available.

Competitors are asked to register before the event. Registration forms are available at http://www.actionforchildren.org.uk/get-involved/events or contact Selena Goldsmith on 01622 230764 or selena.goldsmith@actionforchildren.org.uk.
