4c Russia Launch lipscombThe National Alfa Romeo Day comes to Chatham!

Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts alike will be heading to The Historic Dockyard Chatham on Sunday 11 August for the National Alfa Day, as the award winning tourist attraction plays host to the Alfa Romeo Owners Club (AROC) National event.

In addition to a great display of Alfa Romeos through the years, there will be a wide range of trade and private stands together with the AROC Shop selling a range of Club merchandise. The event will also see The Alfa Romeo Owners Club annual Concours d’Elegance which will attract a fantastic array of models.

Club Manager, Nick Wright said “The event is kindly being sponsored by local Alfa Romeo main dealer Lipscomb of Maidstone. We are expecting up to 700 cars on the day and it is always great to see such fine examples of this iconic marque on display for our members and the public to enjoy.”

A fun day out for Alfa and general car fans alike, National Alfa Day will see hundreds of iconic and evocative examples on display from the past 60 years. Visitors will recognise some of the famous Italian models including The Giulietta Spider – just like the car driven by Edward Fox in the The Day of the Jackal, the Giulia Super police car – the same as the car in the famous mini chasing scene in the Italian Job and the Duetto Spider – identical to the car driven by Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate. Fans of the more modern car will not be disappointed either – Lipscomb, the authorised Alfa Romeo main dealer for Kent will bring with them brand new examples of the Alfa MiTo and Giulietta..

This is a real opportunity to see the changing style and sophistication of the Alfa Romeo marque of the years, all in one maritime heritage location. Supported by a number of trade and private stands offering parts, accessories, miniatures, literature and models, the event is not to be missed by any true Alfa or car fan!

All the Alfa displays are available for visitors to view and included in the normal admission prices, as well as the school holiday activities taking place, making it a great added-value day for the whole family! Dockyard film tours will be available to book on the day.

The Historic Dockyard site will be busier than usual on this day, with many of The Dockyard’s open areas functioning as display areas.
