At 12 noon on Saturday 27th August at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, one of two 4.5” Guns will be fired on HMS Cavalier – the Second World War Destroyer. This is the first time any of her guns have been fired since 1972! The Heritage Naval Gun Crew (volunteers), who will be firing the gun – albeit with blank rounds – have been working closely with The Historic Dockyard this year restoring the A and B mountings plus the 4.5” Mk IV guns which were built during the Second World War.
