gravparkprom1 More than 10,000 people partied at the Prom last weekend with tribute acts, including Only One Direction, Cold Player and Counterfeit Quo.

Successful Asian music artist PBN (Panjabi By Nature), who had the crowd jumping with his hit single – Go Crazy, said “This was the first time that we have performed in Gravesham and I was blown away by the positive response. The crowds were amazing, I was delighted that I was able to showcase my music to a new audience. Festivals like this are a great way to promote the Brit-Asian culture to wider audiences, congratulations to Gravesham Borough Council and Cohesion Plus on a great event.”

Once again we were invited to the Pier at Upnor, on the banks of the River Medway, to gather a few snaps of one of the many event evenings held there throughout the year. Last evenings event was a Halloween, fancy dress party and of the eighty or so people that had tickets for the event only a very few did not dress up. Although they were immediately dragged over to the lady in the corner providing face paint and costume make up for those few naughty people.

Music, Karaoke and a small amount of commentary was provided by M&C Pub Entertainment, along with some special effects, visual and sound with lots of tunes to mark the occasion. As ever when the Upnor Pier organize an event of this type there are prizes for the best fancy dress a HUGE buffet meal and of course there are beers, wines, spirits and cocktails available as well. At this point it would be appropriate to say a big well done to Tracy and young Steve for all of the effort they put in getting the buffet together and served, the array of food was astounding. A huge Congratulations should be given to the young ladies behind the bar as they were incredibly busy all evening and last but not least the slightly less young Steve and Dermot for pulling the evening together and ensuring that everything went like clockwork. Even to the point of arranging transport for some of the revellers at the end of the evening.

A selection of the images from the evening can be found HERE

Now all you have to do is keep your eye on our printed magazine to find out the date of the next event
