Arundel Castle To Recreate 1643 Siege
Arundel Castle continues its thrilling 2013 open season with an English Civil War commemoration on 14 April, marking the 370th anniversary of the Siege of the Castle by Parliamentarian soldiers.
Positioned alongside the River Arun, the second fastest flowing tidal river in the UK, Arundel Castle was a key location for protagonists in the English Civil War and the setting of a major 18 day siege. More

The gardens will be transformed into a medieval encampment with a whole array of themed activities, including re-enactments, cooking demonstrations, have-a-go archery, stalls, traders and living history displays.
New features for this year’s event include a medieval fashion show depicting changes in dress through the years, and there’s even the chance to have a personal meeting with the King himself between 12noon and 3pm each day in the castle keep. More
