A nostalgic Roaring Forties Night is planned for High Halstow in March.

It’s a fundraiser for Anim-Mates, the animal rescue sanctuary in St Mary Hoo

The Roger Luxton Dance Band will be playing the music of the wartime era at High Halstow Village Hall on Saturday 29 March from 7pm.

Tickets at £12 are limited to 100 so there will be plenty of room dance.

40′s outfits are optional, but there will be a prize for the best one.

You are asked to bring your own rations to eat.

Massively popular jive and swing band The Jive Aces will be rolling into town on Tuesday night (27 November). The group are back at The Brook Theatre with fresh arrangements of swing and jive, with some R&B thrown in, and not forgetting a superb selection of their own material. Together for over a decade, this extremely popular six piece group have performed at thousands of festivals, theatres and events throughout the UK, Europe and USA, as well as Japan, Israel and the Caribbean and more. The band, which appeared on Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year, has a new album out in December – King of the Swingers: A Tribute to Louis Prima. Tickets are £13, jazz mailing list members £12. Thursday July 26th at the Hastings Arms, ME7 2YD, you have another chance to see the Rochester Swing Preservation Society.
